We are very proud to announce that we have been ranked in 28th position in a list of the top 100 accountancy firms in the UK.
The revered industry 50+50 list, compiled by Accountancy Age magazine, ranks the top performing fee earning firms in the country. Armstrong Watson previously held position at number 32 in the 2016 list and are the only Cumbrian firm to be recognised in the top 100.
The firm continues their ambitious growth strategy across the North of England and Scotland, having acquired the Glasgow branch of Haines Watts at the start of 2018, and are soon to open their first office in Newcastle in October. The year to date has also seen 7 new partners join Armstrong Watson, increasing their expertise in all areas.
Commenting on the firm’s ranking, Paul Dickson CEO and Managing Partner said,
“Being ranked as the 28th largest firm in the UK is something we are very proud of and recognises our ambitious growth plans and our aim to be the ‘go to’ firm across the North of England and Scotland.
“While we are a large firm, our roots are in Cumbria with our Head Office in Carlisle. We are local and we have a Partner led service, where we are focused on one to one relationships with our clients. Our size allows us to provide a proposition that our competitors can’t in Cumbria, our depth and breadth means that we can deliver advice and services that other Accountants and Business Advisers either can’t or can’t do as well as we can.
“As the only firm in Cumbria to be listed in the top 100, this ranking demonstrates not only our size, but how as a business this enables us to have the skills, depth and breadth to help our clients achieve prosperity, ensuring a secure future and providing piece of mind.”
This accolade follows the news earlier this week that Jim Meakin, former Head of Tax at top 10 international accountancy firm RSM, has joined Armstrong Watson as Tax Partner, taking on the role of Head of Tax firm wide.
