Armstrong Watson, Accountants, Business and Financial Advisers launched their new Glasgow office at a drinks reception held at Glasgow’s 29 Private Members Club on Thursday 19th April. The event was held to mark the merger of the top 30 accountancy firm with the former Haines Watts Glasgow Office based in Blythswood Square.
Over 120 guests from across central Scotland celebrated the amalgamation of the two firms and were introduced to Armstrong Watson’s ambitious plans for the business.
The 150 year old Cumbria based firm acquired the Haines Watts Glasgow office in February as part of their plans to expand the business across Scotland and the North of England, strengthening the firm’s position as a leading advisor to aspirational business owners in the city, and in line with Armstrong Watson’s strategic aim to become the ‘go to firm for family and owner managed businesses in the North of England and Scotland’.
The Glasgow office has already seen expansion since acquisition, with Restructuring, Recovery and Insolvency Partner Pamela Coyne soon joining the team, and has a clear vision for further growth.
Paul Dickson Armstrong Watson Chief Executive Officer, said,
“I’d like to thank everyone who came along to our launch event and for the great welcome we received. It was a pleasure to meet with so many clients, business partners and colleagues too.
Our Glasgow positioning has always been an important focus in our expansion plans. This merger is a culmination of continued growth, both organic and through acquisition, cementing our position both in the central belt and across Scotland and the North of England as the ‘go to’ firm for family and owner managed businesses. By combining two firms of similar culture, with complementary practice strengths and sector expertise, it provides us with a strong platform for growing an exciting and dynamic business in the city.”
Glasgow Lead Office Partner, Richard Gibson, added,
“It was great to see so many of our clients, friends and colleagues come together to celebrate our amalgamation with Armstrong Watson and to recognise the fantastic opportunity this brings for both our clients and the Glasgow team. Not only do our skills, resources and culture complement each other, but having an increasing range of specialists and advisers will ensure that we continue to offer businesses the tailored, proactive support and advice essential for profit and growth.”
