Armstrong Watson Partner, Richard Andrew, has been announced as a finalist at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards held annually in London.
Richard – based at our Kendal office - is the only Cumbria based accountant to represent the category at the awards and will be up against competition from some of the country’s biggest names in accountancy.
As Head of Accounting at Armstrong Watson, Richard was nominated for the award by Managing Partner Paul Dickson for his professionalism, measurable success, innovation and his ability to act as a role model to others within the firm, exceeding expectations and revolutionising the way the business delivers accounting services.
Richard was the innovator behind the firm’s cloud accountancy proposition Xero, introduced to prepare companies for the impending challenges faced ahead with the government’s forthcoming ‘making tax digital’, propelling the business forward and resulting in the firm become the largest Xero accountant in the UK.
Commenting on Richard’s success within the company and his shortlisting as finalist for the Partner of the Year award, Armstrong Watson, Managing Partner said:
“Richard Andrew has displayed a wholehearted commitment to keeping Armstrong Watson at the forefront of accounting technology by being at the helm of implementing the "AW Way", a standardised accounts preparation system using Xero and embracing modern cloud computing systems firm wide. For this, in my view, he deserves to be partner of the year.”
Richard will join the other finalists of the British Accountancy Awards at the London Hilton, Park Lane on 13th October 2017.
