Armstrong Watson is a firm taking the development of their people and the future needs of their clients seriously.
The firm have recently made a significant new appointment, with the arrival of Joanna Woodford who has taken up a new position within the firm, Head of Learning and Development.
Joanna’s new role will have a significant impact upon the business and the way in which it is developing its people over the next five years.
The focus will be on looking at how factors such as technology, geography and the changing needs of clients will impact upon the skills the workforce will need, and how the firm supports the development of their employees to gain these skills. This will ensure the firm’s people gain a rounded skill set, engaging with employees and helping them to ‘be the best they can be’.
Joanna will be working closely with the leadership team within Armstrong Watson to determine the workforce the business needs in order to deliver the strategic business objectives, and facilitating the development of employees to make it happen.
Paul Dickson Managing Partner comments:
‘We’re delighted to have Joanna join the team here, driving our Learning and Development forward to ensure that we’re developing our people in line with the future needs of our clients. We recognise that in order for a business to grow and develop it’s essential that our people grow and develop. It’s with this in mind that we’re significantly reengineering the way in which we deliver our strategy, hence the creation of this role at a strategic level. As a business we need to support our greatest asset, our people to ensure they are engaged and have a well-rounded skillset. This will ultimately benefit our clients and ensure that our service and advice continues to be world class. This will help us with our over arching objective for Armstrong Watson to be a great place for our people to work, so that we are a great firm for our clients to do business with. We’re committed to our employees and this role will ensure that each individual’s personal growth and development needs are fulfilled.’
Joanna comments:
‘I feel passionately about developing people to be the best they can. I love working with people and am looking forward to being part of Armstrong Watson, developing our people and delivering upon strategic business objectives to have a rounded, engaged workforce which will ultimately benefit the and clients.. One of the challenges I find people have when it comes to development, is identifying where they need support and development, yet this is crucial to opening the door to personal growth. I am excited to be given this opportunity to make a difference to the future of Armstrong Watson and helping to ensure the firm is ‘fit for the future’.
