Mark Yeadon and Leigh Martin - How to avoid giving away your company's best ideas
This talk will look at measures a compnany can take to avoid giving away what may be some of its most valuable assets - intellectual property. Mark will consider the protection of technical ideas, such as ideas for products and processes. Leigh will consider the protection of brands, logos and content such as web content, handbooks and training materials. He will also look at the importance of having written agreements in place before any discussions which might results in IP being disclosed or created. Finally, how can you avoid running into problems with the intellectual property of others, and what can be done when things go wrong?
Steven Holmes - How to maximise your Patent Box tax relief savings and how to maximise your Research and Development tax relief savings
Steven will be discussing the Patent Box tax relief including does your company qualify, what are the tax savings and how can your company maximise its tax savings. Most of you will be aware of Research and Development tax relief so Steven will briefly recap the rules, highlighting changes to the relief and how you can maximise your savings.
