Farming: The Next Generation, Free Seminar

Releasing the family farm into the hands of the next generation can be a difficult process, but if you want to give the farm and your family the best chance of future success, planning ahead is essential.

Putting off decisions about succession can lead to legal and tax problems which could be minimised, or avoided altogether, if there are open and frank discussions which address everyone’s future needs and wants. Putting arrangements in place in advance will protect the long term future of the family farm.

In this free seminar hosted jointly by The Farmer Network, Armstrong Watson, YoungsRPS and Burnetts, farming specialists will explore the following:

  • Making sure your will is relevant to the farm business
  • Why you need to ensure partnership agreements are up to date
  • Capital gains tax & farming tax reliefs
  • Optimum timing of farm tenancy transfers

Speakers are:

Making the transition between generations can be difficult, but with some advance planning, the process can be less painful.

The event will start promptly at 7pm and finish at 9pm.  A complimentary pie and peas supper will be served at 8.30pm.
